Conservatory Laminate Flooring FAQs

Why should you choose laminate flooring for a conservatory?

With embossed, oak-effect, and textured laminate flooring designs to choose from, you’re bound to find the perfect conservatory laminate flooring for your home. Our conservatory laminate flooring is hardwearing and UV resistant, with water resistant options available, too. Plus, it’s compatible with underfloor heating!

We dive into all the benefits and features in our laminate flooring guide.

Do I need to install an underlay under conservatory laminate flooring?

All floating floors, like laminate, require an underlay. Choosing the right underlay for your conservatory laminate flooring depends on the type of subfloor you have. If you have wooden floorboards in your conservatory, you’ll likely need underlay that helps smooth out the surface of the floor. If you have a concrete subfloor, you may need underlay with additional moisture protection to help add a barrier between the subfloor and your new laminate.

Will laminate flooring fade in a conservatory?

At Tapi, our laminate flooring includes a UV protection layer to help reduce the fading on your floors caused by sun damage. That way, you can enjoy like-new laminate flooring in your conservatory for years to come. Our laminate care guide can offer tips to help keep it in great shape too.

How do you lay laminate flooring in a conservatory?

When it comes to a conservatory, you have to keep temperature change in mind, so before laying the laminate ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, level, and well insulated. You can then install a damp proof membrane and suitable underlay, and then let the laminate acclimatise in the room for at least 48 hours. Once that is done, lay the boards along the longest wall, leaving a suitable expansion gap around the edges. Fit rows using the click system, staggering joints as you go. Finish by trimming edges and fitting skirting or beading to cover the gaps while allowing movement.
