Established in Scotland in 1895, award-winning British brand Victoria Carpets use traditional craftsmanship to make their premium 100% wool and wool mix carpets. A founding member of the Carpet Foundation granted the Royal Warrant in 2013, Victoria Carpets are highly regarded throughout the industry – so much so that they were chosen to create the iconic red carpet for the Royal Wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in 2011. Founder George Anton and his two business partners started out manufacturing tapestry carpets and rugs in Victoria Road in Kirkcaldy, before relocating to the carpet-making town of Kidderminster. Legend has it that their staff were so loyal, many of them walked nearly 400 miles from Kirkcaldy to Kidderminster to keep their jobs!
As fashion trends and manufacturing technology evolved, so did Victoria Carpets. In the 1930s, they began supplying plain Wilton carpet to big names in the motor industry, such as Rolls Royce and Bentley. The 1940s saw the end of printed tapestry rugs in favour of simpler carpet designs, so Victoria Carpets invested in numerous Axminster looms and cemented their status as a manufacturer of Axminster carpets. In the 1950s, they set up another factory in Australia to supply the burgeoning international market, and also started manufacturing tufted carpets. Today, Victoria Carpets are best known for their Natureborn wool carpets, like the popular Tudor Twist and Sisal Weave ranges, and their EasiCare carpets made from polypropylene for maximum stain resistance. In 2020, Victoria Carpets merged with Distinctive Flooring to become My Victoria, taking their knowledge, heritage, and expertise into the world of LVT.
